Misplaced Blame

Recently, Hamid Karzai, the President of Afghanistan forbid the US to use air strikes against houses in his country. What prompted this was an incident where some Taliban shot at a US patrol, killing one of them, from two houses.  The American's called in an air strike on the houses and killed a terrorist - but they also killed a number of civilians in those houses. Now - I want to be very clear about something here - the United States did NOT kill those civilians - the Taliban did.  The Taliban KNEW they were in those houses - and purposely fired on our troops to draw fire onto themselves and the houses they were using as cover.  They KNEW

In the military, there is a hierarchical class system.  Officers and NCO's (non-commissioned officers) are kept segregated from those who are above them and below them in rank.  You have Other Ranks, NCO's, Staff NCO's, Junior Grade Officers, Field Grade Officers and General Officers ... something like that, I may have forgotten or mislabeled a level but you get the point.  Each of these ranks lives separately from the others so that they don't have to shower with them or sit on a toilet next to someone from another rank.  The reasoning behind this is that - Familiarity Breeds Contempt. Popular Myth and the M4 Sherman Tank OK ... after passing on some previous ideas for journal articles which were on politics and reporters again ..
